Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: PT Pertamina (tbk) again increases the price of special fuel type (BBK) Pertamax. The price increase is to apply this evening, May 15, 2015, at 00.00 WIB. The increase is considered to be serious, up to Rp9,600 per litre.

Pertamina's VP Communication Wianda Pusponegoro said the price increase was applied as the Pertamax series is among the type of unsubsidized fuel or public fuel. Based on that, Pertamina decided to boldly increase the Pertamax price.

"Since the Pertamax series is part of public fuel, then there is no subsidy from the government," Wianda said when contacted by Metrotvnews.com in Jakarta, Thursday (5/14/2015).

The price change is surprising since at the beginning of May, Pertamina conducted an insignificant price change.

Moreover, Wianda also said the price is subject to the market price index, as the price always follow the market index. "The reference is the market index price," he said.

Previously, the price of Pertamax was recorded at Rp8,600 per litre in April. At the beginning of May, Pertamina increased the price to Rp8,800. As finally, the price is to be increased to Rp9,600 per litre per May 15, 2015. (Eps)
