Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The Provincial government ensures that the distribution of plastic rice will not occur in the markets supervised by the city's market regulator, PD Pasar Jaya.

"We have confirmed to PD Pasar Jaya that in Jakarta, no one sells that kind of rice," Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama stated at the City Hall, Monday (5/25/2015).

Ahok affirmed that regulators have examined the rice in the traditional market, as it was concluded then that Jakarta is free from plastic rice.

"We have checked, we guarantee that the rice being sold under PD Pasar Jaya does not contain that (plastic)," he reaffirmed.

Ahok mentioned that all rice products in the Jakarta area traditional markets have been tested in the laboratory and supervised by the Food and Medicine Supervisory Board.

"If we caught anyone selling that, we throw them out from our market," he said. (Eps)
