Pertamina Saves USD172 Million
Pertamina trucks (Photo: Antara), Jakarta: PT Pertamina (Persero) recorded efficiency through the company's breakthrough project worth USD172 million by the end of May 2015.
Pertamina's VP Corporate Communication Wianda Pusponegoro revealed the efficiency was above target for the first five months period, targeted at the level of USD168 million. The accomplishment had significantly increased compared to the realization in first quarter of 2015, reaching only USD96 million.
"Between the current troubled times of oil and gas industry, efficiency efforts become important to be continuously done," Wianda said in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday (6/18/2015).
Wianda explained Pertamina had a major program of 2015 breakthrough project, as from the program the target was USD479 million. "The one-year efficiency program is targeted to reach USD479 million. Looking at the development of achievements in the first five months, we are optimistic that the target is reachable," she said.
Moreover Wianda mentioned that the largest efficiency was from the centralization of Pertamina's procurement at USD66 million. The centralization of procurement was previously conducted by corporate, unit and sister companies was changed into Procurement Excellence Group Pertamina.
"Changing the procurement pattern previously conducted separately by corporate, unit and sister companies became centered through Procurement Excellence Group Pertamina. The efficiency of this change have reached USD66 million," he concluded. (EPS)
