Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama supported the idea of awarding five stars to President Joko Widodo. He suggested the five stars presented to be like General Douglas MacArthur.
"I suggested the idea that the five stars are to be made round like General Douglas MacArthur," Ahok said at the City Hall, Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta, Friday (6/19/2015).
The former East Belitung Regent deplored that Jokowi's military uniform is not equipped with five stars, showing the President's highest power above all military ranks.

"It is appropriate that Jokowi's military uniform is equipped with five star general insignia. The president is the highest commander, while a general have had five stars," Ahok stated.
According to the governor, the five star would not hurt anyone, including the military's founding father, General Sudirman.
"If Gen. Sudirman had a chance, he would have become president and the highest ranking commander," he stated.
"I think it is quite funny, the President wearing military uniform with no star insignia. Five stars are not owned by a person. Five stars show that he (the president) is above everyone. If a commander have four stars, the highest commander should have five," Ahok concluded.
As known, Douglas MacArthur is a great general from the United States. He was the first general receiving five stars for his accomplishments in leading the war against Japan in World War II. He had also become the allied forces commander for the Asia-Pacific. (EPS)
