Aiming for Freeway Project, Astra Prepares Rp10 Trillion
Photo: Antara, Jakarta: PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) is to allocate an investment capital of Rp10 trillion for the next five years. The fund was originally set by the company as it aims for the freeway infrastructure project.

"We are aiming for the freeway infrastructure project, along with boosting the national infrastructure initiated by Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) administration. The fund is Rp10 trillion for the next five years. But to allocate Rp7 to 8 trillion is sufficient within the current economic condition," Head of Investor Relations of Astra International Tira Ardianti said recently, as reported on Tuesday (7/21/2015).

He stated that the effort conducted by the company in the infrastructure sector was to anticipate the decreasing automotive business currently. On the state budget for infrastructure allocated by the government this year, the company expected involvements of private sector.

The company will conduct its best effort to increase the non-automotive revenues. He continued that the current infrastructure sector has the potential to develop, as aligned with the government focus to increase national infrastructure.

"The development of the freeway is multiyear investment. The land procurement was also still the main focus as there is a big challenge there," he stated.

By allocation Rp10 trillion, he mentioned that the company is hopeful that it may operate 150 kilometers of freeway. Currently, Astra Group has managed 105 kilometers.

"We are currently aiming for Java island. There are several areas that we are aiming for," he concluded. (EPS)
