FM: No Indonesians Reportedly Killed in Bangkok Blast

Metrotvnews.com, Bangkok: A bomb explosion hitting a shrine in Bangkok, Thailand, have caused many casualties. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioned that there were no Indonesians named as victims.

"As of 22.00 local time (WIB), we have not received any reports of Indonesian citizens named victim(s)," stated the Directorate of Citizen Protection and Legal Counsel, in a written statement received by Metrotvnews.com, Monday (8/17/2015).

"There were no special report from the security officials. However, we are continuously monitoring. Most of the foreign citizens killed were most likely tourists."

Indonesian Consulate General (KBRI) Bangkok is reported to have prepared measures in providing protection to Indonesian citizens there.

Aside from killing 22 people, 123 others were also injured. The explosion in Chidlom District  have caused panic to the local residents.

The shrine was located at a main street in Bangkok, as surrounded with three famous shopping centers. Thailand authorities mentioned the explosion happened in a short time.
