Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Jakarta Provincial Government is to cooperate with the military in educating and conducting trainings for uncontrollable street kids. The military training is hoped to build character, as the goal is that after the training, they could be useful for themselves and the people.

"We have been discussing with the Social Services. We want to cooperate with the military. Those who are naughty, who do not want to be put in the dorms, who don't want to go to schools, we want to place them for two or three months in Rindam Jaya," said Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama at the City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (8/26/2015).

These street kids will be trained directly by well-trained military personnel. Ahok wants those children to receive character building, as after they have completed the training, they would be useful both for themselves or the community.

"(They are) trained for character building. (The results) We may distribute or hire in TransJakarta. If we buy thousands of buses, there should be those cleaning them. We wish that when they got into the garage, there are those who clean them. This children get minimum wage. It can help them," he stated.
