Syrian Refugee: Topic of UN Plenary Session
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arrmanatha Nasir (Photo: MTVN), Jakarta: The Syrian conflict has left the refugee problem, as the issue is expected to be discussed in the Plenary Session of the United Nations.

The session will be attended by Vice President Jusuf Kalla and Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.

According to the Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, Arrmanatha Nasir, the problems in Syria is part of the global issues to be discussed.

"One of the most important matters evolving in the past months is related to the refugees (Syrian). It will also be a focus on the meeting," said Arrmanatha at the Palapa Room, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta, Thursday (9/17/2015).

"In its own main theme, surely many countries will put forward the issue. However there will be two special meetings to discuss the Syrian issue," he added.

The two special meetings, according to the man usually called as Tata, are among others, the meeting of UN Security Council on September 30, which focuses on the "Maintenance of Peace and Security Settlement of Conflict in the idle East and Africa and Countries from Terrorist Threat in the Region." It focuses on discussing various issues in the Middle East, including terrorism and ISIS in Syria.

Aside from that, there will be a high level meeting on the efforts of strengthening refugee management, as it includes the current development.

Aside from that, there are meetings held by other countries. There will be formal meetings as side events, as conducted by the Netherlands and Great Britain.
