Seventh Economic Package Announcement Postponed
Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung (Foto: MI/Panca Syurkani), Jakarta: Government postponed the seventh economic package announcement that previously was scheduled today. The package is planned to be announced next week by economic minister.
"Economic package will not be announced today but it has been prepared by Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs," said Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung in Presidential Office, Jakarta, Friday (12/4/2015).
According to Pramono, in today's limited meeting, President Joko Widodo will discuss seventh economic package with Vice President Jusuf Kalla and Coordinating Minster of Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution.
"If it is ready, it will be announced," he said.
President Joko Widodo previously postponed seventh economic package due to some points that need to be perfected. "President said several points need to be perfected," said Cabinet secretary Pramono Anung in 2 November.
Darmin has signaled government will announce seventh economic package since yesterday. "Deregulation could be announced tomorrow (today)," said Darmin in his office yesterday (12/3/2015)
Government has issued six economic packages to recover Indonesia's economy. The latest package, the sixth one, consists of regulation on processing industry in special economic area (KEK), water management, medicine and food.
